Mwanza City, Igoma Village- Children’s Home
Description: The Igoma Children’s home is housed with 25 orphaned children who have lost their parents due to AIDS or sickness and disease; can no longer care for them or they have no place to go. The home is staffed with loving Christian caretakers who care for the needs of the children, and ensure they are growing in the love and knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Each child in this home will receive education at a local primary or secondary school and will have real hope for their future. The home is operated under the leadership of Pastor Samuel Kitula of Pentecostal Evangelical Mission (PEM) in Tanzania.
About Rev. Samuel Kitula and PEM - Children's Home Director
When God called Samuel Kitula in 1971 to a ministry of service, he agreed to respond if God would give him a wife who would share his desire to serve God, even if it required sacrifice. God kept his part of the bargain, and so did Samuel! After only two years of marriage, he left his good job with great benefits, which included a house with electricity and running water, to follow the call of God to start a church in the very small village of Igoma, about 13 km outside the large city of Mwanza on the shore of Lake Victoria in Tanzania.
After more than 30 years of faithfully serving the Lord, the denomination that Bishop Kitula founded now oversees 27 churches that have been planted in remote villages throughout Tanzania that have not previously had a church of born-again believers. Bishop Kitula is assisted by six regional elders (overseers) who share his vision for reaching these otherwise forgotten peoples of Tanzania!
Samuel Kitula is well-respected among the church leaders in Mwanza City and helps organize city-wide crusades and other gatherings which promote unity in the body of Christ. In the Spring of 2002, he served as vice-chairman of the very successful Fresh Fire Ministries Crusade in Mwanza, led by evangelist Todd Bentley from British Columbia.
Rev. Kitula is a beloved father in his community and has helped to grow countless children into servants of God through training, education, and discipleship. His vision to help thousands of orphans is huge, and requires the help of many of God’s servants from all over the world.

Each phase we will post pictures and updates. Along with partner ministries we will be visiting Tanzania on an ongoing basis, to meet with leaders about development and progress. Prior to moving forward with each phase, we require receipts, accounting and updated photos. Accountability is a high priority for the ministry.
