Agricultural Development in Kakamega

Providing meals for 100 children, in an area where food is scarce, can be a daily challenge. Acts Worldwide Intends to purchase 5 acres of land next to the building site of Breath of Heaven Children’s Home and Education Center.  Once purchased, the land, which is of course feasible, will be used to grow needed crops with the assistance of agricultural specialists.  This will cater for a healthy diet for our children.  Moreover, this will also provide a means for our children’s home to rely less on outside funding since it could provide its own meals and sell the excess in local markets for profit towards the self sustaining of home.

Water Well Drilling in Kakamega

ACTS ordered and has received a Geological survey of the proposed well site. We want to fund the drilling of the well and the installation of the water system.

o         The survey has determined the best location of the well

o         The quality of the water is very high and they have confirmed that the volume is enough to supply good clean water to the children’s home and the agricultural development.

o         Once the well is ready we then need to fund and begin the installation of the water system that will have an electrical pump and holding tanks that will supply the water to both the agricultural center and the children’s home. We will then be ready to start the agricultural development.

Micro Enterprise Projects in Kakamega

There are 40+ individuals in Kakamega that have signed up to attend the ACTS business training in November. Once they have completed this training and an ACTS funding request is completed and submitted with a small business plan ACTS intends to review and once approved fund these requests.

The micro enterprises funding will range from $150-$300 to start their small businesses. The emphasis for these businesses is not only to earn income to self sustain their families we also encourage them to help support their church and the children’s home. This is purpose for their business, to help support missions in their community.  Business as Missions (BAM).

The small businesses are based on the local needs; buying clothing, school supplies in volume and selling it in the markets, sewing machines to start a clothing business, seeds to grow and sell vegetables, maize, many other items that if they buy in volume and repackage they can make money by reselling in the local market. There is little overhead since most sell in these open markets.
